March 25th, 2010.... Girls Day Out

Okay so I know this is a little late getting on here, but please give me a break already!!

I had computer issues, but now that most of the issues have been worked out, I want to share with you
my girls day out pictures.

It was such a FUN DAY!!!  And so here my pictures begin.  Just remember I am a DORK, and I like to have my camera, which is just a lousy point and shoot at the moment,  with me ALL the time.  Because I like to REMEMBER my experiences through pictures.

So on the "DAY" we met up at 7:45am in Provo, Utah and then
headed up to Salt Lake area to meet up with one of Cluttered Brain's
other friends, who would meet us at the studio.  Yes, I said studio.
We were going to a taping of "Good Things Utah" (and it was fun.)

We got there a little early and were just hanging out in the van waiting for
the other friend. So here I am with Steph.

Random Picture ... of Cluttered Brain.

So we're both dorky!!  We were taking pictures of
each other while taking a picture.

Playing around with my camera and she just happens to be the
SUBJECT.  And a gorgeous one at that!!!

Here is the SET.  It really was fun to see the way they operate
for shows like this, it really was fascinating.

(See here Alexes.... I told you I had a good one of you and Debbie)
So obviously this is Alexes with her friend Debbie.

Trying to get a group shot, self portrait style...

Okay and I'm a really big dork... I think the camera was running
funky.  It took a while to finally take the picture, so I started to
goof off, and then, of course, it decided to take the picture, when
I put on the goofy face.

A group picture of us with the Good Things Utah ladies.

And of course, we were thinking the same thing at the same time.
We both ordered the same thing for dessert and both turned to get
our cameras out to take pictures of the scrumptious stuff.
And now that it has been so long since I had it, I can't remember
what it is called, but it was GOOD!!

But this picture was taken because just then we realized what each other
was doing and then we both started laughing.

And after a very fun time of visiting and being together, the day drew
to a close. But it wouldn't be complete until I had taken a picture
of the two of us together.

These kinds of days don't happen often, but when they do,
they are definately memorable.

Thanks for a great day out ladies. And to my husband, Chris, thanks
for holding down the fort at home while I was away.

A letter to someone from my past....

I've decided to follow suit and join up with Mama Kat on a writing prompt. So here's a letter to my first love that broke my heart....

Hey You,

I just wanted to send a letter letting you know how much you really meant to me!! I felt a real connection to you, and you always seemed to get my heart pumping fast whenever you walked into the room.  I thought maybe we'd have been able to really have and pursue a relationship.  And if you had intentions of not doing so, you certainly didn't let it known.

I remember dropping by and visiting and talking with you for hours, and watch you clean and take care of all your guns and ammo stuff.  Then we'd go out and you'd shoot them off.

Yeah, I remember kissing you, and thought I was in absolute heaven!!  And then every time we would see each other after that, my blood was boiling because you'd seem to heat up the room.  I really felt that I loved you, and part of me still does.

But when I was informed right before I headed off to college that you were actually (three timing) seeing another girl in the stake, myself, plus a girl that was somewhere in Utah at the time.  As in the words of Buttercup, " I died that day!!"  but fortunately I knew that what we had wasn't true love.

I managed to get beyond my feelings I had for you, it was tough but I managed.  I wanted someone who was good, and would treat me well, and if I had pretended everything was good with us, I'd have been really upset within a short while.

You thought you were a jerk when I found all this out, but I'm so glad I had a dear family friend tell me of such actions.  Yes I was sad and distraught, but I've moved on.

I've now been happily married for 11 and half years, and you know what else... you may be the only one that can stir such feeling within me, but your kiss wasn't as good as my husbands!!!

Hope you have had a nice life, but seriously I have heard you've gone a different way in life than I wanted to go, and so I think it really was best that things ended when and how they did.  And I seriously pray and hope that you aren't hurting any other hearts out there the same way mine was hurt and broken.

But thanks for the experience because really it's part of who I am today, and a great reminder of what someone needs to know about a signicant other.  You just didn't have it, but I hope someday you can make a lady really happy and truly love her.

I used to care about you....
and sometimes I still think of you....

But I know I'm better off without you.  Sorry but that's just how it is.

Heart Broken but I've moved on,
Wendy

My life described in Six words....

From a MEME that my friend Alexes used on her blog over at One Cluttered Brain.

Here are my six words:

Agghhh, I don't have any Chocolate!!!

The story:

Well now that would be more than six words wouldn't it? But who cares it's my blog, and I'll do what I want.

We started to watch a movie with our kids, and I had grabbed six miniature packages of M&M's that were left over from Halloween clearance shopping. But I had reserved three back in the bedroom. I mentioned to the hubs, that there were three in the bedroom. And later when I went in there to retrieve one, just 1 of the packages, I find out that he ATE ALL THREE!!!

WHAT?? Excuse me, did I just hear you correctly?

Yeah, he did, ate all three. He thought I told him he could consume all three!!! HELLO!! No!! Think again!!

So now, I need to remedy this chocolate fix of a fix I'm in.

Note to self : when I mention that I have any Stash of anything left, don't let him know how much is available, he might just gobble it all up!! Aw, the nerve of that MAN!!! My goodness. What am I ever to do, now that I don't have my chocolate??

But I guess I still love you, even if you eat all my chocolate!!!!

Button Pushing...

As I was having a conversation with my sister in law today... I got to thinking about something I could post on her. And basically it was the conversation we were having. Or rather the "lecture" or "talk" I was giving... I think I was talking way too much.. but what can I say -- I love to talk, but not only talk but to talk with an ADULT. You know those bigger kids that are over the age of talking like babies, and whining for everything they want. The kind of people that you can relate stories to, and get feedback from.

Well basically I had this to express...

I've realized lately that my husband and I are such a great match for each other. We were one of those "quick" couples. And by that I mean, we didn't date terribly long before we realized that we would get married. Heck from the time we first kissed until we were married... (get ready for this. Are you sitting down?) 100 days. That's it!!

Now some days I think..... 'WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING!' and other days I'm saying...
"WE'RE SO PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!! I Love YOU SO MUCH!!" and then there are the " I can't live with you/ can't live without you feeling that seems to happen simultaneously. You know the bittersweet scenario.

But more and more, I'm realizing how perfectly matched we are. Because he seriously balances me when I'm loud and crazy. Balances me because he's probably not loud and usually isn't AS crazy as I am. When I'm upset and getting short with the little people, he tends to jump in and take over getting them ready for bed, while I get to go "relax" and "chill out" or basically " go have a MOMMY timeout" . And the same happens in reverse .. when he's upset with the kids or they seem to be agitating him more easily then me, I'll just take over the reins and herd them off to their beds for some much needed quiet time FOR US.

So not only do we work well as a pair that way, but he also knows how to push my buttons. And he knows exactly what buttons I have that get me going pretty sour pretty quickly. He knows this about me. And why shouldn't he? We've been married now for 11 years, so I think that is reason enough that he would know I have "BUTTONS". The problem doesn't lie with the fact that he knows about them, but that he PUSHES them. Oh, and he's good. He likes to tease, and torment, and thinks he's communicating a whole lot of LOVE my way. Hello?? I think we're speaking different languages here. I'm not getting a whole lot of LOVE out of all the "button" pushing. More like getting pretty UPSET and even ANGRY -- depending on my level of "endorphins" (aka the happy drug, well not really a drug you take, but one that is released when you laugh, and exercise and helps you feel better) at the time of onset.

And over the years, I've been trying to figure out what buttons he has... and well, to tell you the truth there aren't very many if at all. But there is one button I wish that he did have, and I'd engage it EVERY NIGHT, or every time he fell asleep. What button is that? Well, my TV comes with one, and the computer can be manipulated to do the same thing, and my kids NEED one too. Any Ideas???

I wish I could push the MUTE button. Let's see how you like that... husband. Ha.

But even as I'm writing this he probably wishes that I was programed with one of those buttons too. Well this might not be coming out vocally but the message is being heard loud and far. (Or at least I hope so)
